Five thirty two

Overview

My best friend Kate and I met in college. In 2020, we decided to turn our shared love of music into something bigger and started a band. We call ourselves five thirty two, a name inspired by the 532 miles that separated us when the pandemic hit. Kate was in North Carolina and I was in New York. It was tough being apart, but music became our way of staying connected. We released our first single in April 2020 and since then we have been putting out both original songs and covers, proving that distance is no match for creativity.

My Role

As a band member, I’m deeply involved in various aspects of the songwriting and production process. Here's how I contribute:

• Songwriting and Composing: I collaborate with Kate to write lyrics and melodies, shaping the foundation of each song and ensuring that every track has a unique, cohesive feel that aligns with our artistic vision.

  Vocals: As both the lead and background vocalist, I deliver impactful performances, from carrying the lead melodies to layering harmonies, making sure each vocal part enhances the emotional tone and energy of the song.

  Production: I play an active role in the production process, working on arranging instrumentation, layering sounds, and establishing the overall sonic direction to ensure each track has a polished and professional finish.

  Mixing: On select tracks, I take the lead in mixing, balancing levels, EQ, and effects to create a refined final product that showcases each element clearly and translates seamlessly across all platforms.
